Construction & Specialized Workers' Union (CSWU)
We represent 6,000 men and women in British Columbia and the Yukon. The Labourers Union has been a part of organized Labour in B.C. since September 14, 1937. Members have been involved in all aspects of building this province from the dams for hydro electric power, gas pipelines, mines and roads as well as all types of buildings.
The Construction and Specialized Workers' Union Local 1611's roots are in Construction but also has members in Health Care, Security, Parking Lots, Cemeteries and related work, Precast Concrete Plants, Janitorial Work, Recycling Plants, Landscaping, Railways, Road Building, Mining and Diamond drilling, Rock related work, Paving, Site Services, and Shipyard Work.
