The BCFED has received funding from the province to engage union members who identify as South Asian to help inform the creation of a museum or centre for Canadians of South Asian Heritage.
Hermender Singh Kailley, the first leader of South Asian Heritage at the BC Federation of Labour has been appointed to the advisory committee for this project and will help to lead these engagement sessions.
Engagement sessions are planned on the following dates.
- February 25, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm online via Zoom – province-wide
- March 1, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in-person – Surrey BC (Jessie Sunner, MLA office at 7327 137 Street, Surrey, Unit #105: register here)
- March 5, 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm in-person – Vancouver BC (Ross Street Gurdwara: register here)
- March 11, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm in-person – Burnaby BC (Register here: BC Federation of Labour Offices | Remote session available on request, please email us)
- March 12, 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm online via Zoom – province-wide (register here)
