Vancouver BC - BC Federation of Labour President Laird Cronk will join striking UNITE HERE Local 40 workers on the picket line to share a significant announcement. The strike on four downtown hotels —the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, Westin Bayshore, Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront, and Rosewood Hotel Georgia— is into its third week. UNITE HERE Local 40 members are striking for living wages, basic job security, and safety reforms to protect workers from injury and sexual harassment on the job experienced by many female staff.
