Vancouver-The BC Federation of Labour is lending its support to the planned Women’s March in Vancouver on Saturday, January 21, the day after the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.

The event starts at 10:00 am in the Jack Poole Plaza at Canada Place. Participants will march by both the US consulate at 1075 West Pender, and the Trump Tower complex at 1151 West Georgia Street.

BCFED President Irene Lanzinger will be among the speakers addressing the rally.

Other events are also being staged across the province, including Kelowna, Victoria, and Nanaimo.

“Most British Columbians watched with shock and horror as the US elected Donald Trump as president,” says Lanzinger. “Supporting the women’s march is part of our longer term efforts to help build a broader movement that defends rights and diversity against those political leaders like Trump who foster hate and division to try and roll back the clock.”
