BC Federation of Labour convention begins Monday in Vancouver

Next May’s provincial election will figure prominently when an expected 1,500 union members from all parts of the province gather in Vancouver for the week-long 57th Convention of the BC Federation of Labour starting November 28.

What: BC Federation of Labour 57th Convention
When: Monday November 28 to Friday December 2
Where: Exhibit Hall A, Vancouver Convention Centre West

Event highlights include:
• BCFED President Irene Lanzinger speaks to delegates Monday at noon;
• Dr. Cindy Blackstock, First Nations Child and Family Caring Society of Canada keynote address Tuesday 9:00 am;
• BC NDP leader John Horgan addresses the convention Tuesday at 1:30 pm;
• Wednesday 9:00 am, the premiere of a new video marking the deaths of three Fraser Valley farmworkers and the Golden Tree monument that transformed grief and outrage into a poignant memorial; and
• Also on Wednesday 2:30 pm, the BCFED formally launches its political action campaign for the May 2017 provincial election.
